Summary: As the Controller at our company, you will be the financial mastermind behind our operations, overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, analysis, and strategy. You will work closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance, optimize processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a blend of financial expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for the gaming industry. The Controller plays a pivotal role in managing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring financial report accuracy and timeliness, and overseeing tax and compliance responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable and payroll.
  • Conduct monthly book balancing, account reviews, and prepare monthly financial statements.
  • General ledger analysis, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Collaborate in the budget process on an ongoing basis.
  • Prepare and present financial statements and reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, and variance analyses.
  • Offer timely financial status reviews to management.
  • Review, evaluate, and implement accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements like payroll and taxes (property, sales, income) reporting.
  • Coordinate annual audits and prepare annual tax documents.
  • Manage corporate multi state tax responsibilities, including annual returns, quarterly estimated payments, and liaising with tax advisors.
  • Act as an audit liaison and oversee financial and regulatory reporting (e.g., 401K Plan, Wells Fargo reporting).
  • Maintain corporate records, including stock records.
  • Supervises sales tax responsibilities, including managing audits and liaising with tax preparation services.
  • Renewal of business licenses.
  • Manage stock redemptions, issue stock certificates, and maintain stock history.
  • Assist in strategic planning and participate in special projects as needed.
  • Clear journals in error, manage claims transfers, and review inventory adjustments.
  • Setup and maintain ASW configurations and ensure renewal of business licenses.
  • Act as a liaison with insurance and customs bond providers.
  • Direct and indirect supervision of accounting department staff.
  • Responsibilities include recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and addressing staff concerns in compliance with company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 15-20 years of experience in financial management and accounting.
  • Proficiency in financial forecasting, reporting, and economic analysis.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of management and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer programs.
  • Risk Management.
