The General Manager’s Perspective: Austin Riegler

As the General Manager of Cowboys Calgary, I oversee the operations of the nightclub and the annual Music Festival hosted in July. Our goal was to enhance the customer experience, particularly during the early hours of the night, and provide additional entertainment within our venue. We recognized the need for a fresh concept and decided to incorporate an arcade into our establishment.

Introducing the Arcade

The newly added arcade within Cowboys Calgary features a game room with 17 titles and a total of 24 games. This exciting addition provides an immersive gaming experience for our diverse clientele, ranging from the core demographic of 18-24-year-olds to individuals of all ages, from 18 to 80. The legal drinking age of 18 in Calgary enables us to cater to various groups, ensuring everyone can enjoy their night out.

Why Betson?

We were seeking the next evolution of our business and a way to entertain customers during the early portions of the night. Being located inside a casino leads to numerous distractions and activities, so we added the arcade as another feature to keep customers in our room entertained. After a lot of shopping, it was clear that Betson offered the best pricing and customer service for what we were looking for. They have been great to work with as first-time operators of an arcade.

Constant communication and working with us to solve issues. We had never owned or operated an arcade before, and there was much trepidation in adopting a new concept. They have been great with working with us to understand our systems and help to grow the business.

We worked closely with Betson and saw quick growth in our revenue. This came from both the arcade games and bar sales in a part of our venue that was not used much before. The new arcade has greatly helped us keep customers engaged and entertained in the early evening. By providing an alternative form of amusement, we have effectively extended our guests’ stay and heightened their overall experience.
